Scratch Interact is a regular event dedicated to exploring and developing interactive theatre. Produced and programmed by Glue, it gives companies and artists the opportunity to try out new ideas, and audiences the chance to see and influence the development of new work.
For the next Scratch Interact on the 5th of February weʼre taking over Kent University School of Arts and we’d love you to be part of it.
Weʼre looking for interactive theatre pieces at an early stage of development that would benefit from being presented to an audience and getting feedback. There is also the opportunity to be considered for programming at the next Scratch Interact at the Soho Theatre in the Summer.
Glue define interactive theatre as: Theatre in which characters have direct, two-way, meaningful dialogue* with their audience. (*not necessarily verbal). Weʼre interested in all forms of interactive performance, and this event is an opportunity for all artists to try out that interactive idea that has been bubbling away irrespective of experience.
To apply please send us the following information:
1. A completed Cover Sheet (download here) please fill in and save as PDF. You can download Adobe Acrobat Reader for free here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
2. What youʼd like to do and who you are. Weʼd like a proposal of the piece of interactive theatre youʼd like to try out and a short account of what you or your company has done before (if anything). Donʼt worry about the written style, just get your ideas down. We want to know what the piece is like and what youʼre like. We also want you to tell us how your idea can be considered “meaningfully interactive”.
Please include links to any support material. We’d like to see some brief examples of your previous work (no more than a couple), but don’t worry if this isn’t possible. Please keep this document to 500 words max and send as a PDF or Word file (we prefer pdfs if poss).
Please send all these two document to: this email by the deadline end of 22nd January
Thanks,
Chris, Sam, Anna
